The bunkhouse was originally built in Whaletown and used as an office. It got towed to Blue Jay Lake farm and parked where it continued to function as an office for a number of years, then eventually converted to a guest house.
The bunkhouse is 12’x24′ with one bedroom plus a common space with a sink, counter and woodstove. In the rainy seasons there is electricity from Blue Jay Lake’s off-grid hydro-electric system. There is an outdoor composting toilet (outhouse) just behind the bunkhouse.
We are looking to live with others who enjoy the rural lifestyle, are eager to participate in farm projects, want to live in community and are interested in living a simple life without many modern conveniences.
Island folk, city folk, single folk, couples, and family are all welcome! This home is perfect for a sabbatical, retreat from your daily grind, or for people looking to put down some roots (ask about long-term possibilities).
